The residence is reemerging as a forest of scaffolding is being removed from the house. The last of the exterior finishes are being applied. The generous overhanging roof shades the house and terraces of various sizes on three levels. The exposed concrete columns contrast to the lighter plaster. Our attention will soon focus on the interior finishes and trims.
The steel framing and decking is in place. One can clearly understand the volume of the house and its interior and exterior spaces. The views from the covered terraces are outstanding. The house seems to welcome Tampa Bay under its wing.
All of the concrete formwork for the uppermost concrete beams was stripped. The house now has a remarkable presence on the street. One can clearly appreciate the double cantilever of the roof over the entry stair. The deep concrete shadowbox on the side elevation adds interest to the volume of the house from both the street and the water.
Three weeks later, the uppermost tie beams delineate the outline of the house. It is now possible to better differentiate the spaces that will serve as terraces from the conditioned enclosure.
In today's aerial, one can clearly see the two story space cutting through the center of the house. All spaces are organized around the double height living / dining space.
